Residential project questions
Know what to expect
before work begins.
Clear answers help homeowners decide whether a project is ready for construction and what needs to happen first.
01What residential projects does RIDIS accept?+
We review whole-home and interior renovations, kitchens and bathrooms, layout changes, additions, garage conversions, outdoor improvements, new home construction, structural and waterproofing repairs, damage build-backs, and incomplete-project recovery.
02Will my project require permits and inspections?+
Many remodeling, addition, conversion, structural, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, roofing, window, and door projects require permits and inspections. We identify the likely path during scope review and manage the applicable construction permits and inspections for accepted work.
03Can I remain in the home during construction?+
That depends on the areas affected, utility shutdowns, dust and safety controls, access, and construction sequence. We discuss occupied-home conditions before scheduling so the plan is realistic for the household and the work.
04What should I provide for the first review?+
Share the property location, intended changes, current conditions, desired timing, budget range, and any plans, photos, permits, estimates, inspection reports, or association documents already available.
05How are concealed conditions and changes handled?+
When demolition reveals an unexpected condition or the requested work changes, we document the condition, revised scope, pricing, schedule impact, and any permit consequences before additional work proceeds whenever practical.
06What happens after I submit the form?+
We review the property, project type, timing, and information provided. If the work appears to fit RIDIS, we contact you to clarify the scope and outline the next step, which may be a phone discussion, document review, or site visit.
